  • Plenty of peas, beats, and beans for green smoothies

Plenty of peas, chard, cabbage, beans and greens for making green smoothies. The gardens in the raised beds have peas and tomatoes that have climbed over the top of the trellis and down the other side. Green smoothies are a great way to start the day. I add fresh ginger, garlic and lemon juice and apple cider vinegar. Big thanks to Karen and Nicole who are helping me tend to the gardens.

A favourite stone soup stew, this is a plant based beefless Irish stew. Adding a half pint of Guinness will also improve the flavour.

    Stone Soup Ingredients

    • 1 stalk celery
    • 2 Soup Stones*
    • 3 diced potatoes
    • 4 cloves garlic chopped
    • carrots
    • salt, pepper
    • olive oil
    • butter
    • oregano
    • sage
    • rosemary
    • whorcstershire sauce
    • thyme
    • red wine (vinegar)
    • 6 cups bone broth
    • Freshly caught rabbit, sausage or brisket*
    • tomatoes or tomato paste
    • tomatoes
    • chives onions of leeks
    • flour 1/4 cup

**It is important to bless the stones and be grateful for all of the ingredients. Thank the rabbit, a well dressed rat or other beefless plant based substitute can be added instead for protein. Moths, crickets or grubs can also work.

    Preparation Method

Sautee butter and garlic in the bottom of a large soup pan on medium heat for 3 minutes or until browned,

Add the onions and leeks, and add the meat or plant substitute.
