Davin Peterson BSc. Eng.

Davin Peterson has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry with an extensive background in software engineering, fibre optic networks and wireless communications.
He has also travelled extensively visiting most continents with an interest in art, archictecture and appreciates great human endevours including the Pyramids and Machu Pichu.

Education
Davin Peterson earned a BSc.Eng Bachelor of Science and Mechanical-Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University in 1996 and a certificate in Visual Arts.
Between 1996 and 2001 Mr Peterson worked for various government, academic and commercial organisations including the, Australian Federal Government and software consulting for financial institutions in London.



Professional Associations and Executive Experience
Davin Peterson is an active member of the IEEE and has served on the board for several years from 2019 -2023 for the BC Broadband Association and the Ashlu Creek Community Foundation respectively. Before starting Base Technology in 2004, Mr Peterson worked for over 10 years as a Software Engineer and Applications Development Manager for various academic, government institutions and private companies around the world.

President and CEO of the successful independent Canadian Telecommunications carrier Base Technology Limited doing business as Base Wireless for over two decades.
During this period the company specialized in providing the communications infrastructure, fibre networks, towers and service required to deliver high speed Internet for rural remote communities, commercial, industrial sites, Power Stations and First Nations. Mr. Peterson is a certified fibre optics installer and is also trained in First Aid.
The telecommunications infrastructure of the business was recently acquired by Telus Communications the company now continues to provide Network engineering, IT Support, private fibre networks, Managed IT security and services. For more information visit Base Technology

1997- 1999 Australian Federal Government
Mr. Peterson has been responsible for numerous technology projects that have been successfully delivered for government, academic and private industry including power stations,First Nations, remote communities and municipal government with enterprise software and essential physical telecommunications infrastructure.
Several years were spent working for the Australian Federal Government at which time he received the National Australia Day Achievement Medallion in 1999 which acknowledges “officers that have met many tight deadlines and achieved the successful completion of tasks often in very difficult circumstances under extreme pressure.”
After a successful career as a Public servant with the Australian Federal Government Davin proceeded to develop financial transaction systems for banks in London England and also completed an e-commerce system for a private Canadian company in 2004 with multiple currencies and sale of hard goods.
At this time he then started a wireless software Internet company now based in Whistler BC Canada using the latest developments in fibre and wireless communications technology.
